Sea glass.....bits of broken glass smoothed by years of polishing by sand and salt water. Much like we are polished and smoothed by the years of our lives.

Saturday

And so another day passes by. Tomorrow, still another. Something is definitely not right, but I can't put my finger on it ,nor do I think I really care. There is contentment in not trying to communicate anymore. But its sad to think that there is nothing left to say. And even if there was something to say ...it would be short or most likely untrue.

Tomorrow is Sunday..church, lunch, and more quiet. Not a dangerous or angry quiet...more like a dead silence. I have never said I wish it was Monday so I could go back to work...but truly...I wish it was Monday so I could go back to work.

Having shared all this joy and happiness with anyone who might be remotely interested, I am off to my room.

Good night and sweet dreams..if you are fortunate enough to have sweet dreams......

What a pretty day here today. Its now 6:05 PM and its still 71 degrees! I love springtime here in FL. Right outside our dining room window is a huge deep pink azalea bush. I'll post a picture of it later.

This week is a week off for me and I sure plan to enjoy it. Lots to do including catching up with some sweet friends in DeFuniak Springs. Friends that I havent seen in over a year. Time gets away from us. And the older we get...the faster it gets away.

Rebekah and Sarah came over for lunch today. We had ham and yams, corn pudding, deviled eggs, beans baked in bourbon and southern biscuits. Yum. Sarah made delicious cupcakes and I baked brownies yesterday so we all sort of rolled across the floor after eating. Tomorrow the gym.....as many times as possible this week since I am on vacation.

Skip and Rebekah have gone looking for tiles for her house and Sarah is now out with "the boyfriend", Seth. I used to wonder and worry about her dating and going out in cars with boys....but Seth is a dream and I have grown into the idea of her dating.

Hope everyone had a Happy Passover and a Happy Easter.

I guess I need to try posting those photos again. For some reason, I have a search engine on my pc that runs roughshod over everything. Well, thisblogspot is a new trial and error sort of thing for me so Ill just keep going till I figure it all out. :)

Atlanta

Went to visit daughter Jami, her husband David and our Granddaughter Kate in Atlanta recently. Here are some random snapshots from that visit.

T.G.I.T.

So glad its Thursday! What a long, boring day. We wore Dr Stubbs tee shirts today and we all looked smashing in pink. Rick took a group photo since he was with us at lunchtime. Trying now to decide whether to email it or make a hard copy and send it to Dr Stubbs with a thank you note.

Went down to Bayou Blues this evening for a sandwich. Such a cool place. Dimly lit and "rustic" ...its a winner in my book. One place where , if I went by myself, Im sure I wouldnt be lonely. Everyone is friendly and kinda like "Cheers" everyone knows your name. I like that. A good down home feeling. Some good musicians tonight too. Gotta love Thursdays at Bayou Blues!

Obviously, this blog is turning more into a journal for me, rather than a site for anyone else to read because I'm only writing whats been going on day by day. There are no profundities or deep secrets to share....just " I woke up this morning and this is what happened". So, if you are the least bit interested..pop me a post...and if not...well, then dont read me :) . It matters not to me one way or the other.

Snow is coming to NWFL according to the weather gurus. Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow. If it does snow, school will be cancelled, only because no one down here knows how to drive in the muck. It doesnt bother me to drive in it, but its been a long time and I really dont want to share the sidewalk with anyone who doesnt know how to maneuver on the ice.

Typing and listening to Fox News. I know its time for bed because words are going in one ear and leaking out the other.

C'mon sweet friend....I have two treats and a nice, fat murder mystery to read. "Click"

Sleepy-eyed and ready for bed. One of my favorite times of the day. I take a nice , thick book,(lately a good murder mystery/thriller), two treats for my buddy and of course, my buddy. When he isnt taking up the bed horizontally, he's makes a terrific bedwarmer. And here, in this house, its always a one dog night, no matter how warm it is.

Interesting day at the office. We have so many wonderful patients. They make it a joy to come to work. BUT, today being the day before, three days before ,Valentines Day, the gifts and candy were everywhere. When I started home this evening, I was slightly green from over indulgence in sweets, mixed with a severe case of giggles all day. Who said you have to be grown-up when you're 60??? Tomorrow will be picture day. We'll all wear the new Tees that Dr Casi Stubbs sent us today. I better not forget my camera or I'll be in big trouble! Getting everyone to congregate in one spot for a photo op is difficult in the best of times!

Another Day in Paradise!

Absolutely beautiful day in Florida. A little cool (48) with blue cloudless skies. What I wouldn't give to be out and about and able to play today!! Watching my best friend run in and out, burying bones and barking with the "bad dogs" on the other side of the fence out back. Soon after I leave again for the office, he'll be sleeping. What a life!!
